NEW! Communications & Public Relations – OPEN
This is a volunteer, Board level position, meaning the ideal candidate should be able to devote time and energy to manage the role, provide input to the annual Budget, as well as produce monthly reports for Board meetings.
In the past, this position has classically worked on the development of Centrepoint’s public image and identity (i.e. branding), on acquiring and retaining members, and driving nearly all of our public relations activities. The role is slowly being re-branded as "just” an external-facing role, i.e. less focus on branding (which is fairly established) and less focus on member recruitment/retainment.
We are specifically seeking someone who is capable of understanding and helping the Officers develop and deliver a communication plan complete with strategies and tactics for the future of Centrepoint. A good grasp of the history of our organisation would be ideal, but can be learned on the way.The ideal candidate’s primary day-to-day responsibilities would include those tasks that help aid in the promotion of Centrepoint’s positive profile across the International and Swiss communities, working specifically to attract sponsorships/partnership agreements, fundraising and engage fellow community supporters.
Above average English skills are required; some German and/or French language skills would be a plus. This updated role would supervise the current Deputy or Deputies and a small, dedicated team. Ideally, you would also show an interest in maintaining good relationships with our newsletter, photography, graphic designers, and website content management team volunteers, to move towards the future Centrepoint communication plan. Development of sustainable print publication tactics (e.g. flyers, posters) would follow naturally from such a plan.
Time Requirements & Commitments: Approximately 12 - 16 hours per week is realistic. The current deputies have been involved at the Board level for at least a year, and are eager to help. After an initial training period and a build-up of your team, more tasks could be able to be delegated to them and others. The Board is asking for a minimum of 12 months’ commitment. Please email
candidates{at}centrepoint.ch if you believe you could do justice to this exciting role.
