The Federal Council announced tighter measures on 13 January. These come into force on 18 January and will apply until at least the end of February.

In addition to the already communicated Covid-19 Guidelines, the Centrepoint Board has decided the following measures based on the Federal Council's Guidelines:

  • No more than 5 members, including Front Desk volunteers, are allowed at Centrepoint premises at any one time.

  • The new Covid-19 guidelines issued by the Federal Government state that private gatherings, sporting and cultural activities be limited to 5 people. Therefore, all events and activities in Centrepoint premises will be discontinued until further notice. In particular, Friday Coffee Mornings, Members' Apéro and Kaffee auf Deutsch are cancelled until further notice.
  • Conversation groups and all digitally supported activities will be offered via Zoom.

  • Face masks must be worn at all times. The mask may only be taken off while drinking. Please note that drinking is only allowed while seated. Eating inside Centrepoint is prohibited.

  • Please observe a social distance of at least 1.5 meters even while wearing a mask.

  • All members are requested to follow the general hygiene guidelines issued by the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH/BAG) and the Canton of Basel-Stadt.

  • At least one window should stay open while using the rooms.

We thank you in advance for your understanding and support. We are looking forward to resuming our normal activities as soon as the circumstances allow us to do so safely.

Centrepoint remains open during normal Desk Hours but no more than 5 members, including Front Desk volunteers, are allowed at Centrepoint premises at any one time.
