    Dear members

The only constant is change, they say. At the AGM, two board positions will become available. Ioana will step down as Treasurer. Please get in touch with Ioana if you would like to take on this position.

As mentioned in my December address, I will also step down as president. With a full-time job I now simply do not have the time to do this position any justice. I am confident that 2022 will be a year where many social activities will resume and we need someone who can represent the club at the various venues. Please get in touch with me if you would like to take on the role. Thank you!

    Best regards,

Nicolas on behalf of the Board

In light of the recent revisions to the COVID-19 regulations issued by the Bundesrat, the Centrepoint Board has reviewed and updated the guidelines for activities and events taking place on the Centrepoint premises as follows:

‘2G’ with mask and seating requirement

Admission to the Centrepoint premises (e.g. for meetings, activities, Friday Coffee Mornings and Kaffee auf Deutsch) is only permitted for vaccinated or recovered persons with a valid Covid-19 certificate and photo ID. (Note: some foreign certificates are not accepted by the Covid Check App).

While on the Centrepoint premises masks must be worn, covering both the mouth and nose, at all times except when eating or drinking, which may only take place while seated.

A social distance of at least 1.5 metres should be observed where possible and rooms should be kept well-ventilated by opening windows.

In addition, it is requested that the general hygiene guidelines issued by the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH/BAG) and the Canton of Basel-Stadt be followed.

Digitally supported activities can be continued via Zoom if preferred.

EXCEPTION: ‘2G+’ requirement for Monthly Apéros and Vernissages

For the Monthly Apéros and Vernissages, in addition to the requirement to present a Covid-19 vaccination or recovery certificate, a negative test certificate must be presented in addition (Note: Persons who within the last four months have been fully vaccinated, received a booster or recovered from COVID-19 do not have to take a further test). This enables participants at these events to eat and drink without a mask while standing.

The above guidelines are effective from Thursday 20th January, 2022.

Thank you for your support and we hope you continue to enjoy our activities at Centrepoint.

Due to the current COVID-19 regulations, the Centrepoint Board, given its responsibility for members, has come to the conclusion that the December Apéro, planned for the 16th of December, regrettably has to be cancelled. In light of the new variant and the increasing infection rate, Monthly Apéros are cancelled until further notice.

With regard to other activities at Centrepoint, as you may be aware, we are now obliged to check the certificates of our members. We therefore ask you to have your certificate and an identification document ready to show at the Front Desk when entering the Centrepoint premises. Unless stated otherwise, a COVID certificate is required for all activities at Centrepoint including private group meetings held outside of Front Desk opening hours.

Face masks must be worn at Centrepoint at all times except while drinking or eating. Drinking and eating may only take place when seated.

    Thank you for your support.
