The Centrepoint Board is pleased to confirm an easing of Centrepoint's Covid-19 guidelines. Up to 15 people, including Front Desk Volunteers, may now attend Centrepoint's premises at any one time. Groups with up to 15 people, including the Front Desk Volunteers, may now meet in person at Centrepoint if they would like to. Zoom facilities remain available for larger groups and groups that prefer to meet virtually. Groups that want to meet in person at Centrepoint, please do not forget to inform activities[at]centrepoint.ch so that a check can be made to avoid clashes with other groups.

Subject to further Swiss Government updates and advice, we hope that a further easing of Centrepoint Covid-19 guidelines will soon be possible. Watch this space for updates!

Let's meet digitally! The Covid-19 situation has forced us to stay apart but we can still keep in contact.

We have launched a new digital meeting platform for our members via Zoom.

    There are two available sessions:

One on Wednesday evenings from 19.30-20.30 and the other on Friday mornings from 10.30-11:30.

Both sessions are open every week at the above times. Members can choose to join for as long as they wish; either to stay for a short time to have a quick coffee or a glass of wine and a chat or stay for the whole time and enjoy catching up with everyone.

These are informal, self managed sessions. No need to book in advance. Just drop in as you wish.

Please see Friday's Centrepoint Weekly Briefing email for details about how to join the drop in sessions.

Looking forward to seeing you again! Don't forget to bring a drink!

In line with the Federal Council’s announcement that, from the 1st March, outdoor gatherings may be expanded to 15 people, the Board advises that Centrepoint outdoor activities may be held with up to this number of people.

The other relaxations announced by the Federal Council from the 1st of March do not directly affect Centrepoint so the measures previously advised by the Centrepoint Board remain in place until further announcements are made. This means that the Wednesday evening and Friday morning virtual drop-ins continue to take place, the latter replacing Friday coffee mornings, and March’s Members' Apéro is replaced by the virtual Annual General Meeting on the 18th March.

The full current guidelines advised by the Board are as follows:

    • Centrepoint remains open during normal Desk Hours but no more than 5 members, including Front Desk volunteers, are allowed at Centrepoint’s premises at any one time.

    • The Federal Government's Covid-19 guidelines state that private gatherings, sporting and cultural activities held inside be limited to 5 people. Therefore, all events and activities in Centrepoint premises involving more than 5 people are discontinued until further advisedAs such, Friday Coffee Mornings, the Members' Apéro and Kaffee auf Deutsch are cancelled until further advised.

    • Conversation groups and all digitally supported activities are offered via Zoom.

    • Face masks must be worn at all times while at Centrepoint. The mask may only be taken off while drinking. Please note that drinking is only allowed while seated. Eating inside Centrepoint is prohibited.

    • Please observe a social distance of at least 1.5 meters even while wearing a mask.

    • At least one window should stay open while using the rooms.

    • Centrepoint outdoor activites can take place with a maximum of 15 people.

    • All members are requested to follow the general hygiene guidelines issued by the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH/BAG) and the Canton of Basel-Stadt.
We thank you for your understanding and support. We are looking forward to resuming our normal activities as soon as the circumstances allow us to do so safely.
