Centrepoint’s Artwall features work from selected local artists in small exhibitions that change 4 times a year (with the seasons).

 

As part of the Artwall programme, Centrepoint hosts a vernissage apéro open to all members. Many of the artwork are also available for purchase during the exhibition.

 

The regularly changing exhibitions ensure that Centrepoint’s interior is kept alive and fresh, and are a popular feature of our attractive base in central Basel. The Artwall selection committee meets twice yearly.

Anyone wishing to exhibit at Centrepoint should submit pictures of their work and a short C.V. to the Artwall Selection committee, or by post to: Centrepoint, Artwall, Im Lohnhof 8, 4051 Basel.

 

 

 

Description: Besides being a painter Lena Frei writes and performs her own music with a band and has produced short films. ‘I started drawing and painting as soon as I could hold a paint-brush or pencil. I chose Art as my main subject at gymnasium (that’s where Milo and I met). Currently I am at the university studying philosophy and media studies. I’m passionate about painting, music, films, photography, literature and comics.‘

Milo Schwager is also an artist and musician. He is a founding member of a Basel art co-operative for young artists. Schwager is currently working as an event organiser for the 2013 ‘Imagine festival’ and from autumn will be studying architecture at the FHNW in Muttenz. ‘I like being in my atelier with my friends; painting, listening to music and talking. I used to play guitar in a band. I’m influenced by many modern artists like Cy Twombly or Jean-Michel Basquiat. I also like many old artists. My inspiration is everything I hear and see.’

The exhibition runs until the end of July 2013.
