Talks & workshops

Talk: Life Lessons from Inside a Beehive
Come and join Philip Atkinson, author of ‘Bee Wise – 12 Leadership Lessons from Inside a Beehive’, to lift the lid on the complex lives of bees and reflect on our role as individuals within today’s ecosystem. Bee curious and come and learn more in this fun session.
Other events

ArtWall Vernissage and Exhibition: Visions. Shakespeare. Scenes.
The painter Alvaro de Taddeo (b. 1957) from Basel attended the Humanistic Gymnasium, Muensterplatz Basel, completed a preparatory course at the Basel School of Arts and Crafts and then an apprenticeship as a window dresser.

Finding your Circle: A New Support & Connection Group
Sometimes, despite the beautiful surroundings, we find ourselves looking for a deeper sense of connection—a place where we can speak openly and be truly heard. We will gather as a group of ten, meeting weekly for 90 minutes over a six-week period. Our conversations will be guided by what matters most to you.

Photography group and photo competitions
The photography group organises several activities and events. In addition to the workshops, the group also invites Centrepoint members – and their household members – to participate in photo competitions.
Event reports

A Taste of the Tropics
The recently renovated Tropical Greenhouse at the Basel University Botanical Garden features an impressive collection, split between one section for plants from hot, humid regions and another for plants from tropical cloud forests.

Photo Competition – SCENES OF WINTER
The competition organised by the photography club has once again been very well received. With 35 ‘masterpieces’ submitted choosing three favourites was a real challenge.

Year-round Fasnacht
The best way to enjoy Fasnacht is live — at the Morgestreich or one of the parades, concerts or lantern displays. But if you don’t enjoy waking up before 4 am or standing outside in the cold, you can also experience it year-round at the Basler Fasnacht exhibition at the Museum of Cultures.
