Practical information for internationals in Switzerland

Living in Switzerland as an international often means learning how different systems work – from health insurance and schooling to pensions, taxation and housing. Much of this information exists, but it is rarely gathered in one place.

Expat Expo Basel 2026 aims to do exactly that.

Taking place on Saturday, 14 March 2026 at the Messe & Congress Center Basel, this one-day event brings together companies and organisations that work with the international community. Visitors can speak directly with professionals in areas such as relocation, financial planning, education, healthcare, housing and other expat-focused services.

What to expect

The format is straightforward. An exhibition area allows visitors to explore services, ask questions and compare options in person.

Alongside this, a seminar programme runs throughout the day, with expert sessions covering topics such as the Swiss school system, long-term financial planning, leadership in international environments and other practical aspects of expat life.

The aim is simple – to provide clarity and useful information. Some visitors arrive with specific questions; others come to better understand what is available locally and how different services work.

Entry to Expat Expo is free, but registration is required. The event is open to individuals, couples and families, and offers an opportunity not only to gather information but also to connect with others navigating life in Switzerland.
