Anisa Zafar, a spiritual and creactive art exhibition
Members and guests were delighted to attend our first Vernissage of 2026, showcasing the vibrant artworks of Anisa Zafar.
Born in Iran, Anisa grew up amidst the rich heritage of Persian fine arts. She later moved to Italy, where she studied art and chemical engineering. Though Anisa spent many years working in engineering – ten of those here in Switzerland – the arts never left her heart and spirit.
Inspired by the works of Paul Gauguin, Vincent Van Gogh, and Renaissance masters such as Raphael, Anisa views her artistic vision as an evolution encompassing portraiture, figurative, abstract, and landscape works.
Currently, she prefers working with acrylics and oil, and when asked which colour she favours, she unhesitatingly replies, “Blue.” Shades of blue – from indigo and cobalt to azure – and, unsurprisingly, Persian blue are frequently seen in her paintings. Anisa’s landscape paintings are often influenced by her time spent in the serene alpine environment of Graubünden – the region her husband hails from.
She has exhibited at art galleries and fairs both locally and internationally; a career in curating, coaching and teaching meditative painting ensued. Anisa has also authored several books, such as Emotional Healing Through Art: The colourful secret of creating inner strength.
Anisa hopes that in bringing art into the home, one is not simply decorating but adding an element of calmness and resilience. And from her research, she notes that artistic creations can evoke feelings of joy and inspiration.
Centrepoint members are invited to view and purchase Anisa’s artwork and her books, on display at Centrepoint through March 28th.
