In March, the Centrepoint Artwall is proud to present artworks by the long-time Centrepoint member and dedicated volunteer, Carole Holeiter.
Join us for a celebration of art at the Vernissage on 10th March beginning at 18:00. Enjoy wine and good company while admiring the Exhibition. Everyone is welcome and there is no need to book, just come along.
As an artist, Carole has always been inspired by the beauty of nature, from delicate flowers to towering trees and sweeping landscapes. These were some of her favourite subjects in the early days of her painting career.
In 1995, she began taking private lessons in painting with Heinz Messerli, a fully qualified artist of the Goetheanum Art School, and continued to develop her skills by taking additional lessons in drawing and pastel with graphic artist Theo Furrer. Over the course of seven years of learning and practice she developed an understanding of the importance of imagination, perseverance and patience in the creative process.
«Practise and experience have helped me develop a sensitivity to colour and form, allowing me to bring my visions to life on canvas. Being an artist is not just about creating beautiful pictures, it's also about taking risks and experimenting with new techniques, mediums and styles. It requires persistence and a determination to continue improving composition, drawing and colour until you are satisfied with the results» says Carole.
Holidays in Morocco have also had a significant impact on Carole’s work. The country is rich in culture, history and tradition and the warmth and hospitality of the people she met there left a lasting impression on her. The aromas of mint, cinnamon, coriander and saffron blend with the warm light of the sun, creating a sensory experience that is impossible to forget.
Carole works with different mediums to find the one that best represents her vision. Over the years, she has developed a love for acrylic painting but also enjoys experimenting with mixed media and oil pastel. She works on two paintings at a time, switching between them as needed and not looking at a painting for a few days can help her see it with fresh eyes when she goes back to it.
