With Fasnacht over, except for the “Bummel” Sundays on 1st, 8th and 15th March, it’s maybe the time to visit one of Basel’s many exhibitions.

The Beyeler has two exhibitions, Cezanne and Sensations, the latter being works from their own collection: https://www.fondationbeyeler.ch/.

At the Kunstmuseum, the special exhibition Ghosts ends on Sunday 8th March. There are, however, plenty of other things to see: https://kunstmuseumbasel.ch/en/.

The kHaus at the Kaserne is showing “Aufbruch”, works from Health Care Workers from Tuesday 3rd March to Saturday 28th March: https://www.healthcare-artists.ch/khaus-basel/.

Hero Games at the Antikmusuem closes on Sunday 29th March: www.herogames.antikenmuseumbasel.ch/.

Science Fiction Design opens at the Vitra Schaudepot on Wednesday 18th March: https://www.design-museum.de/en/.

The first act of five short Fuzzy Logic exhibitions by Nicolas Darrot takes place from Thursday 5th to Saturday 7th March at the Tinguely Museum, always a good place to spend an afternoon: https://www.tinguely.ch/en/.

The University library also has an exhibition, London Calling, about contacts between Switzerland and Britain between 1600 and 1780: www.ub.unibas.ch/de/ausstellungen/london-calling/.

On the sporting side there is also plenty to see in March.

The Yonex Swiss Open Badminton Tournament takes place at the St Jacobshalle from Tuesday 10th to Sunday 15th March: www.swissopen.com.

Jumpy castle fans, young and old, might enjoy the XXL Bounce Circus at the Messe Basel, 11:00 to 18:00, from 14th March to 29th March on Saturdays, Sundays and Wednesdays: www.bounce-circus.ch.

For gridiron fans, the Gladiators Beider Basel have home matches on Saturday 21st and 28th March, 15:00 – 21:00 at the Sportzentrum Rankdorf: https://www.gladiators.ch/.

“Soccer” fans will be hoping that Switzerland beat Germany on Friday 27th March, 20:45, at St Jakob-Park. FCB fans, on the other hand, will be hoping for positive results and no missed penalties on Thursday, 5th March, against Grasshoppers and Sunday, 15th March, against Servette: www.fcb.ch.
