iPhone Photography Workshop

Workshop on iPhone picture taking techniques. Photo: Marcel Corpataux

Once again, the iPhone workshop organised by the Centrepoint Photography Club has attracted a great deal of interest.

Over the course of three evenings, the enthusiastic participants were guided through everything from optimal camera settings and camera handling to comprehensive editing options. The programme also included a fascinating talk by Dave Garbutt on the topic of ‘What makes a good photograph?’ Taking part in this workshop is a real benefit for everyone. What is taught is put into practice straight away. Participants ‘try things out’, ‘test them’ using their own smartphones and ‘share their experiences with one another’, so that the exciting evenings flew by in no time. Simple and fun little tasks helped everyone prepare well for the next workshop.

We all carry a powerful smartphone with us these days, yet we hardly ever make use of the wide range of possibilities offered by these smartphone cameras. Due to the high number of enquiries, the Photography Club has decided to offer the three-part workshop next year for Android users as well. We are still looking for an experienced ‘Samsung’ Camera photographer!

The recent ‘Scenes of Winter’ photo competition is still fondly remembered. Following numerous requests, the Photography Club has decided to run it again in summer 2026 (details to follow shortly). Finally, please do not forget that Centrepoint members with an interest in photography are always very welcome to join us for meetings and field trips (photoclub@centrepoint.ch).
