Fresh Air, Cinema, Music and Sport

August sees Basel life go outdoors, with three major events on offer.

Open-air cinema on the Münsterplatz took off on 30^th July, but there’s plenty to enjoy until Tuesday 25^th August. For the full program and tickets: https://basel.allianzcinema.ch/en.   

Tuesday 4^th August sees the start of the Floss Festival at its anchor point near the Mittlererbrücke. There’s music from 21:00 – 22:15 every night until Saturday 22nd August, Sundays excepted. The festival is free-of-charge, but it’s good manners to put something in the collecting bag that is passed around. More info: https://floss.ch/en/

On Friday 14th August, Em Bebbi Sy Jazz kicks off at 18:00 at the Schmiedenhof and Rosshof and ends at 1:00 in the morning on the Marktplatz. This year you can enjoy jazz, blues and 50s rock and roll at 33 locations around the old town. Funk lovers might care to join Centrepoint member Dominic Ferns and the Session Brothers at 10:30 on the Rümelinsplatz. More info: https://www.embebbisyjazz.ch/programm/.
